It seems like the French have got the game of love all figured out. Their capital, the city of Paris, is proclaimed to be the most romantic city in the world. Even their very own French language is dubbed as the "language of love". And if it is true that the way to the heart is through the stomach, then the exquisite French cuisine could wrap anyone around its dainty little finger.

The millions of couples and singles who come to France each year to either go on their honeymoon or to find love cannot be wrong about France being the best romantic destination in the world. This may be because of France's beautiful rolling landscapes, delicious gastronomic delights, or may be even solely because of their gorgeous French women.

One thing is for sure though, the French like to live, and they like to live life to the fullest. Their carefree attitude towards living and their bohemian lifestyle lets the French people enjoy luxury and the finer things in life.

While the French are renowned for all these beautiful things, they are not quite known for their politeness. This may make it seem a real challenge to get to know a French man or a French woman but in truth, they only like to be direct.

In conversations, especially in dealing with business transactions, they don't like to beat around the bush and want to get things done right away. In speaking with a French person for the first time, try to speak French even if you think you are terrible at it. They appreciate someone who at least tries to converse with them in their own language. They will be more receptive towards you and will be more open in getting to know you.

Also remember that the French are used to formal etiquette so practice this while introducing yourself, asking them questions, and especially in inviting someone over for dinner or to go out with you.

French women are known for their impeccable fashion sense, their graceful style, and their elegant looks. Beautiful French women are aplenty because they are very particular about maintaining their youthful looks for as long as they can. They are expected to remain as attractive as they can be, even in old age. This may seem to be putting a lot of the work on the woman, but you might be surprised to know that French men actually do all the work in courtship and dating.

French men are very aggressive but they are also very chivalrous too. They have the most outrageous pick-up lines and have a way of asking if they could sleep with you in a very seductive but inoffensive way that only a French man can do. They are very gallant towards women - opening doors for them, offering their seats, and showing them other polite and gentlemanly gestures.

The French take friendships and relationships very seriously and they expect the same level of commitment. A simple kiss may not mean that you are already in a relationship with that person and it is not uncommon to kiss each other on the cheek if you are close friends. Just be mindful of French formalities and you should be all set in dating a French man or woman.
