10 Fashion Tips For Women

Having trouble getting a date? Can't seem to find anyone interested in looking your way? Can't get the right man to ask you out?

Then you might be committing some fashion mistakes that women in the dating scene often make. Here is a list of 10 common fashion faux pas that women should avoid at all costs.

1. Wearing clothes that don't fit. Clothes that are too baggy will make you look older and feel fatter. Clothes that are too tight can make you look fat and feel uncomfortable. Women, please wear clothes that hug and fit your body in the right places.

2. Showing too much skin. Showing skin may be the easiest way to attract attention, but really, it's not the right kind of attention if you want a meaningful date with a man. There is a fine line between being sexy and being a candidate for the dreaded muffin top, nipple slip, crotch flash etc.

3. Wearing age-inappropriate clothes. When you're in your 20s, you might still be able to get away with short skirts, low-cut tops, and bright colors. But imagine this outfit on a 40, 50, or even a 60-year old? Some older women still try so hard. There is an abundance of clothes that are appropriate for women of all ages.

4. Wearing the wrong underwear. You may have the right outfit but it can be easily ruined by the wrong underwear. Are your bra straps showing? Is your thong peeking out? Do you have visible panty lines showing from the back of your dress? If the answer is yes, it's high time you evaluated your underwear choices.

5. Using the wrong accessories. Just like underwear, the wrong accessories can ruin an entire outfit. Any big, tacky, fake-looking costume jewelry should be discarded. Layering accessories may be the trend now, but the old saying "less is more" is still sound advice.

6. Not wearing the right amount of makeup. Too much makeup, too little makeup - both can make you look just as bad. As a rule, use light and natural makeup for the day and experiment with bolder and heavier palettes for the evening.

7. Being a slave to trends. Not all trends look good on everyone and not all of them should be followed. Don't rely too much on fashion magazines that often show the latest fashion on a waifer-thin model styled by professionals in a climate-controlled studio. How can women in an everyday setting compete?

8. Buying clothes that don't fit into your wardrobe. This is not to be taken literally although there are women who have overflowing closets. This means that if an article of clothing cannot be mixed or matched with anything that is currently in your closet then you better just put it back on the rack.

9. Too many things going on at once. Too many layers, too many colors, too many prints - only one thing to say: KISS. Keep It Simple, Stupid!

10. Overdressing and underdressing. Going to a semi-formal party in a long evening gown. Attending a wedding in a t-shirt and jeans. It has happened before. Ask about the dress code and assess the kind of event to know what to wear and what not to wear.
